fringes of nature

Mainly for Fishy, who wants to see some photos. We just went out to Diri'yah, a large town on one side of Riyadh. It's where the Royal family of Al-Sa'ud come from, and from which they conquered the vast lands of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

We drove down in the valley. There's still some nice rocky bits and huge farms of old wise-looking date palm trees, but then there's almost as much landscaped areas now. I preferred it natural.

this one looks out of place, but its got nice colours.

you can see the defensive mud wall for Diri'yah above the valley-side.

LEAVE IT ALONE. its' nicer natural.

  3. You'd hardly recognise the wadi now, you know, going to Abu zaid's place. in some ways its nicer, but it no longer has that desert feeling.
